Into pore spaces reúne un archivo fragmentado que muestra material documental sobre el proyecto Biosphere 2, una instalación de investigación científica ubicada en el desierto de Arizona. Recopilado durante los últimos meses, el archivo presenta una selección de correspondencia, diagramas y documentación acerca de temas tan diversos como el ciclo del agua o el bioma agrícola; para ser después expandido mediante las contribuciones de un grupo de artistas invitados. Las obras en la exposición parten de vídeos online, dibujos científicos y diagramas, pretendiendo así difuminar las dimensiones de lo racional y lo potencial, lo tangible y lo imaginativo.
Cierta anarquía en la organización de la estructura que recoge el archivo invita a considerar los enredos entre lo tangible y lo potencial como una forma de pensamiento híbrido. Al crear paisajes ambiguos y ecosistemas cerrados donde la ficción crece al lado de pruebas científicas, la exposición genera momentos de confusión donde la documentación aparece como capas móviles con imágenes densas que se superponen unas sobre las otras, ocultando lo que había antes en una acumulación de crecimiento y desposesión constante.
Into pore spaces weaves together a fragmented archival display showing collected material from the Biosphere 2 project, a scientific research facility located in the Arizona desert. Collected over the last months, the archive presents a selection of correspondance, diagrams and documentation on topics such as the cycle of water or the agricultural biome; and is then taken and expanded through the contributions of an invited group of artists. Sampled from online videos, scientific drawings and diagrams, the works in the exhibition aim to blur the dimensions between the rational and the potential, the tangible and the imaginative.
Certain anarchy in the organization of the display invites us to consider the forms of entanglement between the tangible and the potential as a form of hybrid thinking. By creating ambiguous landscapes and enclosed ecosystems where fiction grows along scientific facts, the exhibition creates moments of ambiguous confusion where this material appears as moving layers with images building in density on top of each other, obscuring what came before in an accumulation of constant growing and erasure.
